As a Buyer, you are a key part of the Operations team within the Global Supply Chain team. Based out of our Taiwan office, a key part of your role is to manage inventory planning and supplier delivery schedules in order to meet customer demand. This will require managing supplier purchase orders/delivery schedules, product costs, supplier relationships, and optimizing inventory levels.
Job Responsibilities
I. Procurement:
- Monitoring and managing purchase orders (POs), prepay, pull-in and push-out requirements, and inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Setting up and managing vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs, negotiating MOQs, and leading end of life (EOL) management of obsolescence materials and components inventory.
- Running RFQs/RFPs and negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing and terms & conditions.
- Researching and evaluating potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies for assigned materials and suppliers to optimize costs and lead times.
- Staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in procurement.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant procurement regulations and policies.
- Negotiate price, MOQ, lead time, payment terms, excess fees, and cancellation fees
- Maintain and review lead times and MOQs monthly and quarterly
II. Supplier Relationship Management:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Running supplier reviews (QBRs), understanding the market, mitigating risk, supporting data collection & analytics, and contract management, including NDAs, price sheets & SOWs.
- Managing supplier communications and key activities for assigned materials, suppliers and new product development projects (NPD).
- Regular meetings with suppliers to review delivery schedules
III. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize purchasing needs.
- Supporting OEM/ODM projects and collaborating with the engineering team
- Interacting with the finance team for supplier payment and invoice processing
- Responding to and resolving supply chain tickets
- Supporting engineering changes (ECs) by obtaining updated BOMs and drawings, assessing impact on open orders, inventory, and rework fees for new unit pricing, and updating ERP.
IV. Planning & Forecasting:
Inventory planning and optimization (following DDMRP methodology)
Supply planning and delivery schedule management
New SKU enablement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Logistics or related field.
- At least 5-8 years purchasing/supply chain experience.
- Experience using ERP systems (SAP, JDE, Oracle, etc.), (MRP and DDMRP) related to procurement; you understand supplier capacity planning and how to build a material delivery schedule based on customer order and inventory stocking level requirements.
- Knowledge of CM/ODM/OEM/COTS, price negotiations, and purchase order creation and management
- Experience and knowledge with computer hardware manufacturing
- Professional Proficiency level of English

Benefits
The salary range for this role is $1,000,000 to $1,700,000 TWD annually. We determine final compensation based on discussions with applicants and their experience in similar roles.
